Drammen Spring Tour does not only host a leg of FEI Nations Cup in the 2nd division, but for the 7thyear in a row, Drammen is the place to be for riders based in the Scandinavia region for three weeks in May. Like many of the more southern spring tours, various classes are offered all week long, -and both horses, ponies, young horses are welcome. This is a perfect tour to kick start the outdoor season in Scandinavia.
During the three weeks the tour lasts, the organiser offers classes for Pony, Children, Young Horses and horses, all with an open international status and 8 FEI ranking classes. 700 horses started each of the two first weekends whilst 500 horses will be stabled the coming last weekend. The total prize money is 3 mill. Norwegian kroner.
17 countries will be represented during the tour and countries like Sweden, Denmark, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, France, Poland, United Kingdom, Turkey, Austria as well as host nation Norway has all notified their arrival for the battle of points in the Nations Cup on Friday 12th of May. Belgium is lining up a strong team with some of their very best riders like Niels Bruynseels, Olivier Philippaerts, Pieter Devos and Kingsland rider Gregory Wathelet, as they really need to collect some points. The Norwegian team will consist of Geir and Johan Gulliksen, Pål Flam and Marie Longem, -with the three first riders being Kingsland ambassadors.
Other Kingsland riders in action in Drammen is Danish Linnea Ericsson-Carey, Swedish Ottilia Lundgren and the Norwegians Victoria Gulliksen, Mikkel Flam, Ole Kristoffer Meland, Maria Kingsrød, Hanna Wicklund, Tony André Hansen and Camilla Storemark.
